Preti Flaherty’s Greg Hansel and Sigmund Schutz Named to Legal 500’s Inaugural U.S. Elite Rankings

Gregory P. Hansel and Sigmund D. Schutz have been recognized by Legal 500 in its inaugural U.S. City Elite Rankings, which spotlight standout legal practitioners at elite firms in specific regions of the U.S.

Greg Hansel is a partner in Preti Flaherty’s Antitrust & Competition practice group and a nationally recognized trial lawyer in complex business litigation. In the leadership of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section, he is Co-Chair of the Unilateral Conduct Committee. He has twice been named "Lawyer of the Year" for Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions – Defendants by Best Lawyers in America. He has won victories for defendants and plaintiffs in some of Maine's largest cases and maintains a national and international litigation practice. 

Sig Schutz is a partner in Preti Flaherty’s Litigation practice group and Chair of the firm’s Media Law practice group. He represents news organizations and media clients in First Amendment litigation, defamation and privacy matters, state and federal freedom of information cases, and copyright disputes. He also handles complex business litigation, products liability cases, and environmental litigation. He has served as counsel in more than 30 state and federal appeals. He is a rostered American Arbitration Association commercial arbitrator and has experience in high-stakes arbitration disputes. He is consistently ranked by leading lawyer ranking publications.
