Ideal candidates will have:

  • Top academic credentials;
  • 2-4+ years of experience in energy law, public utilities commissions and/or FERC proceedings, and energy project development transactions;
  • Familiarity with proceedings and practice before state or federal public utility regulatory agencies is a plus;
  • Massachusetts or Maine bar admission; and
  • A comfort with solving complex analytical problems with legal implications, strong communication skills, an entrepreneurial mentality, and the ability to work efficiently on a variety of complex projects.

Duties:

  • Manage regulatory proceedings under the supervision of partners;
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and rigorous legal analysis;
  • Draft a variety of simple and complex regulatory filings;
  • Conduct due diligence and provide counsel on energy-related transactions;
  • Interact regularly with sophisticated clients;
  • Track legislation and rulemakings, analyze impacts, and draft responsive advocacy materials;
  • Participate as a stakeholder in resource planning meetings; and
  • Track energy market trends in New England.

Antitrust Litigation Associate

  • Top academic credentials;
  • Clerkship (preferred);
  • 3+ years of litigation experience;
  • Specific experience and knowledge base in antitrust and competition law and litigation, including class actions;
  • Ability to work well with others in handling high-stakes cases in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to handle independently the full range of legal work, including client relations, research and writing, courtroom advocacy, fact investigation and case development, negotiation, and depositions (periodic travel will be required);
