Committee assignments for the 131st Maine State Legislature have been made public. This article from the Bangor Daily News mentions some of the most interesting choices made by Senate President Jackson and Speaker Rachel Talbot-Ross. The full list of the joint select committees is attached.

Please take note of the fact that many committees have new Democratic Senate and House Chairs and Republican Senators and House Leads. Obviously with term limits and legislative turnover, most, if not all, committees will have changes in membership.

Please also pay close attention, as will we, to the membership of the committees most relevant to your issues. We will work with you to set up meetings with new committee members and relevant committee chairs and leads.

Reminder: Cloture and Inauguration 

We will repeat that cloture is Friday, December 30th at 4 pm. All legislation must be submitted by that deadline by the legislative sponsor. All proposals for our clients that have been brought to our attention are in the process of being or have been submitted. Should there be any legislative proposals you wish to move forward in the 131st Legislature that have not yet been discussed with a member of Preti’s government affairs team, please reach out to us immediately.

January 4th is also Inauguration Day and the day of Preti’s pre-Inauguration Reception. The reception will take place prior to the Inauguration Ceremony from 2-5 pm at the Governor Hill Mansion, 136 State Street, Augusta.
