Bodie B. Colwell to Participate in National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Next Generation Program

Preti Flaherty attorney Bodie B. Colwell will participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) Next Generation Program, held at the annual meeting of the NCBJ in Las Vegas from October 8–11. She is one of 40 young attorneys participating in the program.

The Next Generation Program is comprised of lawyers with five to ten years of legal experience who show the potential to become highly respected members of the bankruptcy bar. Participants are nominated based on proven excellence in the practice of bankruptcy law and a serious commitment to the principles of civility, ethics, and professionalism. Each participant is dedicated to the continued educational development of bankruptcy professionals, and to professional activities that will benefit the public members of the bar and the court system.

Bodie practices as an associate in Preti Flaherty’s Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights and Business Restructuring group in Portland, Maine. She practices in the areas of bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditors’ rights. Bodie is professionally involved with the American Bankruptcy Institute and serves as the co-chair of the New England Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. A Maine native, she graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where she serves as an adjunct professor.
