Biography
Paola is an Associate with Preti Flaherty’s Corporate and M&A Practice Group in the firm’s Portland, Maine, office. In her practice, she is dedicated to advising business clients on a multitude of general transactional matters, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, contract preparation and negotiation, as well as commercial finance and corporate governance. Paola also regularly advises clients regarding privacy issues and prepares privacy policies and other related documentation to ensure compliance with increasingly complex state and federal data protection laws.
Paola is a magna cum laude graduate of Emory University School of Law and Bowdoin College. In law school, she was Notes & Comments Editor for the Emory Law Journal, a clinic participant at Emory’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic, and a judicial extern at the Supreme Court of Georgia. While at Bowdoin, she held internships at Project Citizenship in Boston and in the Maine Migrant Education Program in Augusta; was a teaching assistant on Maine politics in the Bowdoin Department of Government; and served as president of the Bowdoin Advocates for Human Rights. She has studied abroad in Granada, Spain, and Havana, Cuba. In 2019 and 2020, Paola was a Summer Associate at Preti Flaherty.
Paola lives in Portland, Maine, with her rescue dog, August. Outside of the office, she maintains an active yoga practice and enjoys getting outside in all of Maine’s seasons. Paola is a proud member of the Board of Directors of Pine Tree Legal Assistance.
