John J. Cronan practices as an Associate with Preti Flaherty's Litigation and Workers' Compensation Groups from the Portland, Maine office. His practice focuses on assisting clients with defense of workers' compensation claims, defense of Federal Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act claims and self-insurance matters.
Prior to joining the firm's Litigation and Workers' Compensation Groups, John supported the Litigation Group as a paralegal in the Boston, MA office. He worked on complex products liability, professional liability, construction, general litigation, employment and criminal matters pending in state and federal court, as well as various state agencies.
John also served as a law clerk within the Civil Litigation Department of a small Boston law firm, and as an intern with the Worcester County District Attorney's Office in Worcester, MA.
John is a 2009 graduate of New England School of Law where he served as Associate Editor and Executive Technical Editor of the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement. John participated in the Journal's Confinement Outreach Program, which provided pro bono educational opportunities to local prisoners through weekly trainings on legal topics.
He earned his B.S. in Finance from Providence College in 2005.
