Preti Flaherty Attorney Sigmund D. Schutz Named to AAA Roster of Arbitrators

Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce that attorney Sigmund Schutz was recently named to the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) Roster of Arbitrators.

AAA is a not-for-profit organization in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), providing services to individuals and organizations who wish to resolve conflicts out of court. AAA arbitrators are viewed as leaders in the practice of ADR and include distinguished judges as well as preeminent members of the legal and business communities with industry-specific knowledge and expertise. Arbitrators are required to adhere to Codes of Ethics developed by AAA and the American Bar Association (ABA).

Over his twenty-five years of practice, Sig’s experience in ADR has included participation as counsel in numerous arbitrations, mediations, and judicial settlement conferences in state and federal court. He has represented public companies, regional businesses, specialty insurers, and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in numerous arbitrations, courtroom trials, and appeals in state and federal court.

A sought-after writer and public speaker, Sig frequently publishes and presents on a wide range of legal issues. He is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been repeatedly recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers for service to his clients.  Outside his law practice, he has served on the board of directors of non-profits, including American Red Cross of Southern Maine, Portland Ovations, North Yarmouth Academy, New England First Amendment Coalition, and Maine Freedom of Information Coalition.
