Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce that, in a unanimous vote, the firm’s partnership has elected attorney David B. Van Slyke as its incoming Managing Partner.

David is one of the preeminent environmental lawyers in the United States. He joined Preti Flaherty in 1991, following a distinguished tenure at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. At the firm, he has been involved in all aspects of the environmental practice and served in a variety of management positions, including as chair of the Environmental Practice Group, co-chair of the Climate Strategies Group, and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee as well as its Diversity Committee.

Among David’s many accolades, he is a Chambers USA Band 1 Environment Lawyer, a Best Lawyers in America 2020 Lawyer of the Year for Environmental Law, rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers, and a member of both the American Bar Foundation and Maine Bar Foundation. He has been actively involved in his community for many years through organizations such as Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation, the Royal River Conservation Trust, the Volunteer Lawyers Project, Soccer Maine and the U.S. Youth Soccer Association, and the Maine Development Foundation.
