Preti Flaherty Welcomes Attorney Emily T. White to the Firm

Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce that attorney Emily T. White has joined the firm. Emily will practice in the Business Law group from the firm’s Portland office.

Emily brings with her a strong background in tax, accounting, and finance. She distinguished herself in 2016 when she started her legal career in Maine by winning both the Kenneth R. Clegg Award for Excellence and the Laurie A. Gibson Award after receiving the best score on the Maine Bar Exam. She joins Preti after a year of commercial experience with another Portland law firm.

At Pepperdine University School of Law, Emily focused on corporate law and tax policy and was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review. Prior to Law School, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, cum laude, from Loyola University of New Orleans, where she majored in both Accounting and Finance. While an undergrad, Emily broadened her financial skills through internships with wealth management groups and an accounting firm.

“We think Emily is a unique talent and is going to be a star in the Portland legal community,” said John M. Sullivan, Managing Partner of Preti Flaherty. “As a smart, young lawyer with accounting, business, and tax acumen, Emily had her pick of positions to choose from. We could not be happier that she chose to build her career with us at Preti.”

Emily is admitted to practice in Maine; U.S. District Court, District of Maine; and Louisiana. She lives in Portland, Maine.
