Preti Flaherty's Maine Legislative Team Assists in Passage of Landmark GMO Bill

In the 2013 Maine legislative session, a team of Preti Flaherty attorneys led by Dan Walker and Severin Beliveau served as legal counsel and lobbyists to the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association's effort to enact GMO labeling legislation. In helping to secure overwhelming support in the Legislature and a commitment from Governor LePage to sign the bill, Preti Flaherty had a central role in the passage of a landmark statute that will make Maine among the first in the nation to require food containing genetically-modified organisms to be labeled.
