Augusta considering allowing local food producers to sell directly to customers
In October, the City of Augusta considered a proposal that would allow farmers and other local food producers to sell directly to consumers at the location where they grow or produce the food without being licensed or inspected by the state. Attorneys Stephen Langsdorf and Kristin Collins assisted the city in navigating the new Maine Food Sovereignty Act to make the change possible.
