Preti Flaherty Welcomes Legislative Liaison Diane R. Johanson to the Firm

Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce that Diane R. Johanson has joined the firm as a legislative liaison. Diane will help manage legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts for the firm’s Maine Legislative Team in Augusta.

Diane is a resident of Turner. She is a graduate of the University of Maine, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and brings twenty-five years of experience in public policy.

As Government Affairs Director for the Maine Tourism Association, Diane represented the organization’s more than 1,400 members before the Maine Legislature, advocating on behalf of Maine’s largest industry, testifying before legislative committees, meeting with congressional leadership, and activating the MTA membership for various outreach programs, among other responsibilities.

Diane is a well-known and well-respected presence in Augusta, having advised Republican leadership on a variety of policy issues and legislative procedures for over 20 years in the House Republican Office as a legislative staffer and in the Senate Republican Office as the Chief of Staff.

“Diane represents a great opportunity for Preti Flaherty and our Legislative Team,” said Daniel W. Walker, chair of the firm’s Government Affairs Group. “Her comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of the legislative process will prove to be an invaluable resource in advancing our clients’ policy priorities in Augusta, and we are thrilled to have her onboard.”
