Ready or Not: Navigating Maine's Paid Family & Medical Leave Program
Register Here to Attend In-Person or Register Here to Attend Via Zoom
In January, the Maine Paid Family Medical Leave Benefits Authority announced that the state’s PFML fund is sufficiently solvent to begin paying benefits to eligible Mainers starting May 1. Under the new law, eligible employees may take up to 12 weeks of job-protected, paid family and medical leave, and pre-applications for leave starting on or after May 1 will open in April 2026.
In this session, Brooke Haley will walk through the key components of the State-sponsored program, including eligibility, employer obligations, and the application process, as well as considerations for employers who have opted out of the State-sponsored program, and will share best practices for training managers to understand the law and respond effectively and consistently to PFML requests.
Have specific questions about Maine’s PFML program? Submit them with your registration, and we’ll tailor the discussion to tackle the most frequently asked questions to ensure your HR team is equipped to take on the challenges and opportunities presented by these new requirements.
