Last March, work as we know it, turned on a dime. The basics of where and when people work shifted dramatically. Many workers across Maine are uncertain of their employment status. Furloughed? Laid off? Others may be performing work they never imagined doing or that is not part of their job descriptions. Perhaps some have lost or gained exempt status? As we crawl back to "normalcy" this year, the HR community must be on its toes. Michael Messerschmidt and Matt LaMourie will unpack the legal issues employers will face in the coming weeks and months including post-COVID performance issues, remote work, and potential legal risks and traps for the unwary HR Manager.
