  • Top academic credentials;
  • 4-6 years’ experience in commercial lending and commercial real estate acquisitions/development/financing;
  • Specific experience closing commercial loan and real estate transactions;
  • Additional experience with land use and permitting matters, title examinations, and title insurance preferred; and
  • NH and/or MA bar admission.

Corporate Paralegal

Portland, ME

Preti Flaherty is seeking a full-time Corporate Paralegal to be part of an energized team of lawyers and paralegals. This is a fast-paced position in our thriving Business Law Group. In addition to a high level of technological proficiency, the successful candidate will have excellent communication, time management, multi-tasking abilities and organizational skills. Experience with Workshare, Microsoft Office and adobe is preferred.

Duties:

  • Engage with entity types and monitor and perform compliance tasks
  • Draft governing documents
  • UCC filings, searches, annual reporting, etc.
  • Create and maintain corporate/company records and record books
  • Research, analyze and apply statute and regulatory rules.
  • Assist clients with identifying needs
  • Develop and deploy organizational strategies; maintain large databases with privileged information.
  • Standard legal office duties, including: credit card reconciliation, time entry, e-mail archiving, filing, document control, set up and review billing accounts, and additional admin.
  • Applying for EINs and doing other IRS tax classification applications and state tax registrations

Critical thinking; comfort with ambiguity; willingness to cover for other people/practice areas; work independently and self-motivate; strong oral and written communication skills; to identify and resolve or escalate potential issues efficiently.
