Preti Flaherty Welcomes Attorneys Joshua J. Biermann, Laura E. Jensen, and Michael J. Melusky to the Firm

Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce the arrival of three new associates to the firm’s Portland office: Joshua J. Biermann, Laura E. Jensen, and Michael J. Melusky.

Josh Biermann is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and the University of Vermont. At UMaine Law, he received Honors and Distinction within the Environmental and Oceans Law Certificate Program, held internships at Friends of Casco Bar and a notable Maine law firm, and was a student attorney for the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. Josh joins Preti Flaherty’s Environmental Practice Group following two years at a law firm in greater Portland representing veterans.

Laura Jensen is a graduate of Pace University School of Law and Fordham College. At Pace Law, she received both her J.D. and LL.M. and was a productions editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review.  Following law school, Laura joined the Pace Environmental Law Program, became an adjunct professor of environmental law, and eventually served as Director of the Program. She then clerked for Justice Ellen Gorman of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.  Laura joins Preti Flaherty’s Environmental Practice Group following three years in the Natural Resources Division of the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

Mike Melusky received his law degree from the Villanova University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Susquehanna University where he achieved Honors Scholar status. At Villanova Law, he was a awarded the Order of the Coif and was a member of the Villanova Law Review. Mike joins Preti Flaherty’s Litigation Practice Group following nine years at the Philadelphia office of a well-known national firm.

In commenting on the arrival of these three new attorneys, Managing Partner, David B. Josh, Laura, and Mike are proof that Preti Flaherty continues to attract the most talented attorneys across a broad range of service areas.
