Energy and the 2014 State of the Union
On Tuesday night, President Obama delivered his 2014 State of the Union Address before a joint session of the United States Congress. As in the President's previous four annual addresses, energy and environmental issues featured prominently in this year's remarks.
Preti Flaherty energy attorney Todd Griset has highlighted many of the President's policy initiatives in his recent blog post, Energy and the 2014 State of the Union.
The post is a quick read, but provides critical intelligence on what to look for in energy policy in 2014. Expect the Administration to pursue goals like facilitating the production and use of domestic natural gas and renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, as well as measures to tackle carbon emissions and climate change. Exactly how these initiatives take shape – and whether they succeed – will play out over the coming year.
