Remembering Preti Flaherty Founder Robert F. Preti

We at Preti Flaherty are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our founding partners and longtime friend, Robert Preti. Bob was not just a part of our firm; he was a part of our family.

Bob's journey with Preti Flaherty began when he formed a small firm that would over the years grow into our firm of today.  He was an integral part of our firm's early success and contributed to the Maine legal community in many ways, including as a President of the Cumberland County Bar Association and a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Within the firm Bob was known for his generous spirit and his ready humor. He mentored young lawyers with patience and wisdom, always ready to share his vast knowledge.

Bob married his wife Betty in 1951.  Avid skiers and sailors, they traveled together frequently enjoying friends and family.

As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his extraordinary life. Bob’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide us at Preti Flaherty. Our thoughts are with his family.
