Town of Brunswick Selects Preti Flaherty as Legal Counsel

Preti Flaherty has been chosen by the Town of Brunswick, Maine to serve as its legal counsel in a competitive RFP process. At a Town Council meeting on January 13, councilors selected municipal attorney Steve Langsdorf to serve as the town's lead counsel, expanding on its previous government relations engagement with the firm.

"We're excited to continue our relationship with Brunswick and look forward to serving as general counsel to Maine's most populous town," said Langsdorf. "We've enjoyed working collaboratively with town leadership to develop creative solutions to their legislative needs and we will expand that approach to this broader legal engagement."

The firm had previously assisted the town with a number of issues related to the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority before the legislature in Augusta. Now, Langsdorf will handle all general legal matters for the town and draw on additional firm resources in the areas of government affairs, public finance and taxation as needed.

Preti Flaherty's Municipal Law Group has extensive experience helping municipalities of all sizes in Maine and New Hampshire with the full range of legal issues faced by cities and towns. In addition to this engagement with Brunswick, Langsdorf serves as general counsel to numerous municipalities, including 15 years as city attorney for the City of Augusta and recent representation of the Town of Chelsea on a series of complicated and high-profile employment matters.
