Biography

Nick is a member of the Energy and Telecommunications Practice Group in the firm’s Portland, Maine, office. He advises clients on matters related to energy project development, guiding preparation and execution of permit and license applications, energy contracts, and transactions, and providing representation before state and federal administrative and regulatory agencies.

Nick is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Ocean & Coastal Law Journal, an Energy & Environmental Law Fellow, and a teaching fellow for the first-year legal writing program. While in law school, he held internships in the Office of the Maine Attorney General, at the Conservation Law Foundation, for the Hon. Kermit Lipez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and at a notable energy law firm in Washington, D.C. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Nick spent several years as an energy and environment reporter in Louisiana, Indiana, and New Hampshire, and taught coastal science to high school students in Louisiana and Chile. He joins Preti Flaherty following a clerkship for the Hon. Joseph Jabar of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.

A New Orleans native, Nick lives in Portland, Maine, with his spouse and two cats.
