Charlie Dingman Honored with 2016 Equal Justice Hero Award

Charlie Dingman was honored with the 2016 Equal Justice Hero award from the Maine Equal Justice Partners, a civil legal aid organization. The pro bono award was presented during a luncheon at the Maine Bar Association's annual meeting and Access to Justice Symposium in Portland.

The Maine Equal Justice Partners represents Maine people with low income in areas of economic security, including access to health care. The award is given annually to someone who has made a significant contribution to strengthening access to justice in Maine. It is reserved for those whose efforts seek to bring equal treatment before the law to Maine.

"Charlie is deeply committed to finding solutions to poverty and improving lives of people with low income," said Robyn Merrill, executive director of the Maine Equal Justice Partners, "Charlie is always ready to give us thoughtful and solid advice. His expertise with state government and the legislature makes him a tremendously valuable resource. This experience combined with his wisdom and deep and lifelong commitment to social and economic justice have been great gifts to us and the people we represent."
