Employment Law Breakfast Series Kickoff: Practical Approaches to Troublesome FMLA Issues

Preti Flaherty's Employment Law Group is pleased to announce the return of its Employment Law Breakfast Series. Please join Betty Olivier for a series of informal and interactive conversations on important employment related topics and discuss everyday employment challenges with your fellow HR professionals.
The series will kick off with a conversation focusing on the FMLA, one of the most difficult employment laws for employers to administer. In this session, Betty will use a case study to navigate practical approaches to often troublesome FMLA issues.
FMLA Program Topics
- Recognizing what action to take when a leave is requested or you have information suggesting an employee may need FMLA-protected leave;
- Obtaining the medical and other information needed to administer leave;
- Managing chronic conditions such as migraines and depression and intermittent leave;
- How to discipline employees before, during and after leave; and
- Managing suspected abuse
