Don Sipe Presents Innovative Plan Before FERCApril 15, 2014
A recent article in Platt's Megawatt Daily featured Preti partner Don Sipe's presentation to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Technical Conference. At the April 1 discussion of cold weather event impacts on the electric grid, Don gave a talk entitled "Information and Trading Platform for Natural Gas" and offered an innovative plan to restructure natural gas markets.
On behalf of the American Forest and Paper Association, Don prepared the presentation to offer a new approach for Regional Transmission Organizations/Independent System Operators (RTOs/ISOs) as they try to respond to the fast-changing natural gas sector. This effort continues Don's role as a thought leader in his practice before FERC, building on his earlier work on demand response theory [see, "Historic New FERC Ruling to Enable SMART Grid"].
