Town of Windham Selects Preti Flaherty as Legal Counsel

Preti Flaherty has been chosen by the Town of Windham, Maine in a competitive RFP process to serve as the town’s primary legal counsel. At a Town Council meeting on March 22, councilors selected firm attorney Steve Langsdorf to serve as the town’s Principal Municipal Attorney. In this role, Langsdorf and other Preti attorneys will provide legal advice and representation to the Town Council, town manager, staff and committees.

“We’re excited to build our relationship with Windham as general counsel,” said Langsdorf. “We look forward to working collaboratively with town leadership to meet their goals.”

Langsdorf has practiced with Preti Flaherty for over 29 years. He is the Chair of firm’s Municipal Law Group. This group has extensive experience representing municipalities across Maine and New

Hampshire on general and complex municipal law matters, and works with many towns in addition to Windham, handling the full range of legal services, including municipal governance, planning, zoning, land use, taxation, drafting of contracts, collections, policies and ordinances, and representation in litigation and before the legislature.

Langsdorf has served as Town Attorney to the Town of Rangeley for 25 years and Corporation Counsel to the City of Augusta for 18 years. He was selected in January 2014 to be Town Attorney for Brunswick after a competitive RFQ process.
