November 8, 2004 – PORTLAND, ME – Preti Flaherty today announced
five new attorneys have joined the firm here and in Concord, N.H., strengthening
its litigation, intellectual property, bankruptcy and commercial law practice.
Patrick Scanlon, Stephen Wilson, Michael McCormack, and Jeanne McHale are in
Portland, and Joshua Menard is in Concord.
Mr. Scanlon haspracticed
patent law for 14 years and has prepared and prosecuted over 200 patent
applications. His patent work involves a wide range of technologies. In addition
to his patent practice, Patrick advises clients on trademarks, copyrights, and
trade secrets.
Mr. Wilson brings broad-based litigation and appellate
experience to Preti Flaherty. He has served as counsel in a number of
alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including mediation, arbitration,
and judicial settlement conferences. He has also assisted clients with a
variety of intellectual property and entertainment law matters running the gamut
from preparation of intellectual property portfolios to enforcement of IP rights
through litigation and ADR.
Mr. McCormack is a graduate of Suffolk
University Law School, where he served as note editor of the Suffolk University
Law Review. He earned a B.A. at Duke University. Mr. McCormack is admitted to
practice both in Maine and New Hampshire.
Ms. McHale’s practice
concentrates on litigation. She is a graduate of Yale Law School, where she
served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal. She earned a B.A. at Harvard
College, from which she graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
Following law school, Jeanne served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul V.
Niemeyer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Menard’s practice concentrates on bankruptcy and commercial law.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Joshua completed a two-year clerkship with the
U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Hampshire.
