For Immediate Release – Preti Flaherty, one of Maine’s leading law firms,
announced today it has added two attorneys, Sarah E. Redfield and Thomas P.
Pinansky, both to serve the firm Of Counsel.
Thomas P. Pinansky
practices with Preti Flaherty’s International Law practice group, focusing
on international business matters. He is also the senior foreign attorney at the
law firm Kim, Shin & Yu in Seoul, Korea where he advises a substantial
international client base on international transactions, investments and
business issues. Pinansky is also very active in international arbitration
matters, both as an arbitrator and on behalf of clients from around the world.
Prior to practicing in Asia, Pinansky practiced law with Hogan &
Hartson in Washington, DC and with Vinson & Elkins in Austin, Texas.
He is a graduate of Harvard University (1981) and earned his law degree from
University of Pennsylvania Law School (1985). A Maine native, he is a graduate
of Cape Elizabeth High School. He now resides primarily in Seoul with his wife,
Roxanne Holland, and also works frequently from Hawaii and Maine. Pinansky is
the son of the late William D. Pinansky (who was a practicing attorney in
Portland for over 50 years) and Suzanne E. Pinansky, who currently resides in
Portland.
Sarah E. Redfield practices with Preti Flaherty’s
Education Law practice group. She is a member of the faculty at Pierce Law in
Concord, NH and adjunct faculty and consultant for other schools including the
University of Southern Maine, University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law
in Sacramento, CA. With Preti Flaherty, Sarah’s legal practice focuses primarily
on education law, administrative law and dispute resolution, including
administrative process and special education law.
As founder of the
Education Law Institute (ELI) at Pierce Law, Sarah has organized the ELI
Conference annually since 1994. She is also the Program Chair of the 11thAnnual
Education Law Conference at USM. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College
(1970), Northeastern University School of Law (1974) and Harvard Law School
(1983). She resides in York, Maine and has two children, Alex and Althea Rose.
