Preti Flaherty attorney Christopher Reid has been named legal counsel to New
Hampshire Governor Craig Benson. Mr. Reid, a former New Hampshire assistant
attorney general, will take his new post this spring.

Mr. Reid is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New
Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, and before the United States Court of
Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is a
member of Preti Flaherty and practices from the firm’s Concord, NH office.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Mr. Reid clerked for Judge Martin F.
Loughlin in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. He also
worked at the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office where he became a senior
assistant attorney general. In 1996 while on a leave of absence from the NH
Attorney General’s Office he was Deputy Special Counsel to the U.S. Senate
Committee on Governmental Affairs. During 1998 and 1999 he was Associate
Independent Counsel in the investigation of Interior Secretary Bruce
Babbitt.
