New additions focus on business, litigation and legislative affairs

Preti Flaherty today announced two new appointments to the firm’s practice here. Steven Griffin fills the position of Government Relations Advisor, while Kara N. Sweeney is an associate, with experience in business law and litigation.

Mr. Griffin will work closely with state and national political figures, and regulatory decision makers to meet client needs. Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Mr. Griffin served as senior legislative aid to New Hampshire Congressman Jeb Bradley. His related experience includes tenure as government affairs associate with S&H Murphy, Inc., and as a legislative assistant to the New Hampshire House Majority and Speaker’s offices. He received his bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State College.

Ms. Sweeney returns to Preti Flaherty where she served as a summer associate in 2001. Most recently she was an associate with Concord’s Orr & Reno. Ms. Sweeney’s experience includes bankruptcy, probate litigation, commercial litigation, insurance law, medical malpractice and business transactions. She is a graduate of Vermont Law School and Middlebury College.
