Member of the Governor's Advisory Council on the Sustainability of the Forest Products Industry in Maine

Preti Flaherty attorney Anthony Buxton has been appointed as a member of the newly formed Governor's Advisory Council on the Sustainability of the Forest Products Industry in Maine. The council, made up of eleven representatives of business, industry and government was created by executive order. "The Advisory Council will collect information from businesses, landowners, Indian tribal governments and government agencies to formulate strategies that will improve timber supply, capital investments, transportation, research and technology, and the workforce infrastructure while promoting sustainable forest management," Baldacci said. He called Buxton one "of the best minds in the State."

"This appointment makes clear how well respected Tony is throughout the state. He will bring invaluable insight to the council and its report in August will be stronger for his contributions," said Preti Flaherty managing partner Harold Pachios. The Council will submit recommendations to improve the competitiveness of Maine's forest products industry to the Governor by August 31.
