Chair of Health Law Group Honored
PORTLAND - John P. Doyle, Jr., a senior member at Preti, Flaherty, Beliveau,
Pachios & Haley, LLC has been selected by his peers to be included in the
2001-2002 edition of Woodward-White's The Best Lawyers in America®. Doyle chairs
the firm's Health Law group.
Best Lawyers began publication in 1983 and
has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence in
the United States. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review
survey in which 15,000 leading attorneys throughout the country cast more than
half a million "votes" on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their
specialties, it is considered a singular honor.
Doyle has been a major
force behind the creation and organization of the practice of health law in the
State of Maine. He has served as the chair of the Maine State Bar Association's
Health Law Section from its creation in 1985 through 1994.
Mr. Doyle was
born in Portland and graduated first in his class from Cheverus High School in
1968. In 1972, he graduated cum laude from Yale University with a degree in
economics and earned his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in
1975. Prior to joining the law firm in 1979, Doyle served as Chief Counsel and
Staff Directors of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Alcoholism and Drug
Abuse.
