September 20, 2007 — PORTLAND, Maine — Today Preti Flaherty announced
that attorneys Kristy M. Smith and William D. Hagedorn have joined
its Portland office. Smith will practice as an associate with the Business Law
Practice Group and Hagedorn will practice as Of Counsel with the Litigation
Group.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Kristy Smith practiced corporate law
with a small firm in Bangor, Maine. She is a graduate of the University of Maine
School of Law where she served as Research Editor of Maine Law Review
during law school. Smith earned her undergraduate degree from Western
New England College and graduated summa cum laude in 2001. She is
admitted to practice in Maine and resides in Portland.
William Hagedorn will focus his practice on complex commercial
litigation and international and domestic arbitration matters. William comes to
Preti Flaherty from the Washington, D.C. office of McDermott, Will & Emery,
one of the world’s largest law firms. He earned his law degree from the
University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Managing Board of
the Journal of Social Policy and the Law. He earned his undergraduate degree
from Princeton University and graduated magna cum laude with High Honors
in 1995. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and California
and resides in Portland.
