April 13, 2007 – BOSTON, Massachusetts and CONCORD, New Hampshire
—Today Preti Flaherty announced that M. Brad Lawrence and Melissa J. Lawler
have joined the firm. Brad will practice with the firm’s Intellectual Property
Practice Group from the Boston, MA office. Melissa will serve as Government
Relations Advisor to the firm’s Legislative, Regulatory and Governmental
Services Practice Group from our Concord, NH office.
Brad Lawrence joins the firm as Of Counsel. He brings a
strong background in patent law to the firm, and has extensive experience
assisting technology industry clients with patent matters. Prior to joining
Preti Flaherty, he practiced with Bromberg Sunstein, LLP in Boston.

Intellectual Property Practice Group, “Brad Lawrence brings very strong patent
experience to our Intellectual Property Group. His background in patent
litigation, patent prosecution and enthusiasm for IP issues will greatly benefit

Brad is a 1998 graduate of the Boston University School of Law and a 1995
graduate of the University of Colorado.
Melissa J. Lawler has joined the firm as a Government
Relations Advisor. She will advocate for clients before New Hampshire
legislators and regulatory agencies. Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Ms. Lawler
implemented grassroots advocacy initiatives for Calypso Communications in
Portsmouth, where she supported private companies and non-profit organizations.
She also held legislative positions with both the New Hampshire State Senate and
the New Hampshire House of Representatives’ Democratic Offices.
She has supported campaigns including New Hampshire for John Lynch and
assisted Senate Democratic Leader Sylvia Larsen and the Senate Democratic Caucus
during the 2003 legislative session as a participant in the Concord Senate
Internship Program.
