September 21, 2006 — PORTLAND, Maine — Today Preti Flaherty announced
that Katharine McCarthy and Patrick Strawbridge have joined its Portland office
as associates in the Business Law Practice Group and the Litigation Practice
Group, respectively.
Prior to joining the firm, McCarthy worked as a clerk at the Maine Supreme
Court for the Honorable Chief Justice Leigh Ingalls Saufley. While in law school
at the University of Maine she served as the editor-in-chief of Maine Law
Review and in 2003 received the Honorable Daniel E. Wathen Legal Writing
Prize for the best appellate brief. McCarthy received her undergraduate degree
from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree from Harvard University and law degree
from the University of Maine School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Maine
and resides in Portland.
Strawbridge comes to Preti Flaherty after completing two judicial clerkships,
one with the Honorable Howard Dana at the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and most
recently for the Honorable Morris S. Arnold on the Eighth Circuit Court of
Appeals in Little Rock, Ark. Strawbridge received his undergraduate degree from
the University of Missouri and his law degree from Creighton University School
of Law, where he finished first in his class. He is admitted to practice in
Maine and Connecticut and resides in North Yarmouth.
