Portland, Maine – June 2, 2006 – Today, Preti Flaherty announced that eleven
of its attorneys and five of the firm’s practice groups have been selected for
recognition in the 2006 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business
Lawyers, the highly regarded legal directory which ranks firms and individual
attorneys.
The following Portland-based attorneys were recognized for outstanding
overall accomplishments in their practice areas: Alfred Frawley, Susan
LoGiudice, John McVeigh, Michael Messerschmidt, Robert Newton, Christopher
Nyhan, Elizabeth Olivier, Jonathan Piper, Michael Sheehan and David Van Slyke.
Augusta-based Michael Lane was also recognized as an “Up and Coming” attorney
for his real estate practice. Each was assessed on qualities including technical

Preti Flaherty was also ranked as a leader in every practice area recognized
by Chambers USA, including Corporate/M&A, Real Estate, Employment Law,
Litigation and Environmental Law.
“We are proud to achieve this prestigious international recognition for our
dedicated work across many industries,” said Harold Pachios, Preti Flaherty

nominations are earned by reputation and final selection is made by a rigorous
independent review.”
