Preti Flaherty is pleased to announce that John M. Sullivan, a Partner
practicing in the firm’s Concord, New Hampshire office, has been certified by
The American Board of Certification (ABC) in Business Bankruptcy Law. John is
also the only attorney practicing in New Hampshire to be ABC certified in both
Business Bankruptcy Law and Consumer Bankruptcy Law.
ABC Business Bankruptcy certification is based on several requirements,
including:
• practicing law full-time for at
least five years;
• good standing
in the bars of all the states in which a license is held;
• devoting at least 30% of practice time and
at least 400 hours to bankruptcy related
matters in
the last three years (with documented case information provided);
• having earned at least 60 hours of
bankruptcy education in the past three years;
• having passed an extensive written examination on business
bankruptcy issues.
John practices in corporate law, commercial finance, general business matters
and bankruptcy, where he represents both lenders and borrowers. He represents
several of New Hampshire’s larger manufacturing concerns, and has had confirmed
several Chapter 11 reorganization plans. John is listed in the 2003/2004 edition
of The Best Lawyers in Americain the Bankruptcy Law category. He is a
graduate of Bowdoin College and from Washington and Lee University Law School.
He is admitted to the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar Associations, and
resides in Concord.
The American Board of Certification (ABC) is a non-profit organization
dedicated to serving the public and improving the quality of the bankruptcy and
creditors’ rights bar. The ABC offers separate certification programs in
business and consumer bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law. All three ABC
certification programs are accredited by the American Bar Association.
