Bullying and harassment continue to pose challenges for students and
educators. The law is less than clear about a school's obligations to prevent
and respond to bullying and harassment claims, and these obligations may vary
depending on the group of students involved. Attend this briefing and learn
about the following:
- Steps you can take to help prevent bullying and harassment in your
schools
- Real life situations that have given rise to cliams of bullying and
harassment, and how the courts have reacted to such claims
- Specific concerns that arise when the harassment is directed to gay and
lesbian students
- Practical approaches to handling and responding to bullying claims
Two sessions will be held, each from 8:00 am - 9: 15 am. Continental
breakfast is provided.
