Retaliation is one of the most frequently alleged discrimination claims filed with the EEOC and the MHRC. Whistleblower protection laws and anti-retaliation provisions included in most statutes that address employee rights provide the legal basis for these claims. In this briefing we will discuss the types of situations that can give rise to retaliation claims as well as steps employers should take to minimize the risk of liability from allegations of retaliation.
