Thomas P. Pinansky joined Preti Flaherty in 2004 as counsel to the firm, and
focuses on international corporate law. He is the senior foreign attorney
(Partner) at the law firm Barun Law in Seoul, Korea where he is involved
in a broad range of international corporate and advocacy matters, representing
many of the world’s largest companies.
Prior to joining Barun Law, Tom practiced law with Kim, Shin & Yu in
Korea, Hogan & Hartson in Washington, DC and with Vinson & Elkins in
Austin, Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the
Washington, D.C. Bar.
Tom also served as the Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Council of American
Chambers of Commerce from the spring of 2001 until 2003. He currently
serves as a Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and sits on
the Executive Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
Tom serves as a Korean Commercial Arbitration Board arbitrator. He is a
panelist on the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and is also a World
Intellectual Property Organization arbitrator. Tom sits on the informal roster
of arbitrators for the International Centre for the Resolution of Investment
Disputes.
Tom has written and spoken extensively on Asia-related business and legal
matters. A Maine native, he was born in Portland and resides primarily in
Seoul with his wife, Roxanne Holland, and also works frequently from Hawaii and
Maine.
