Roy T. Pierce is a member in the firm's Litigation and Business Law practice
groups in Portland.
Roy’s practice concentrates primarily in the areas of
commercial and appellate litigation, state and local taxation and municipal law.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty as an associate in 1998, he was an associate for
more than five years with the Lewiston, Maine, firm of Brann & Isaacson,
LLP.
He is admitted to practice before State and Federal courts in Maine and
Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the
United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Maine, Massachusetts and American
bar associations as well as the Litigation Section of the American Bar
Association.
He graduated summa cum laude from American International
College in 1989 with a degree in political science. He earned his law degree cum
laude in 1992 from the University of Maine School of Law, where he was notes and
comments editor for the Maine Law Review. Following graduation from law school,
he served as a clerk to the Honorable David G. Roberts, associate justice of the
Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Roy resides in Freeport, Maine, with his
wife and two daughters.
