Jonathan Mermin joined Preti Flaherty as an associate in September 2002. His work in the firm's Portland office is focused on litigation, business law and estate planning.

Jon graduated from Cornell University, earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University, and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 2001, where he graduated summa cum laude and was ranked first in his class.  Following law school, Jon served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.  Prior to law school, he was a lecturer in Political science at Yale University. 

A native of Ithaca, New York, he lives in Portland with his wife and children.
