Preti Flaherty's Environmental Practice Group presented a Breakfast Briefing on February 14, 2012 featuring guest speakers Ron Dyer and David Wright of the Maine DEP.
Their timely presentation covered the proposed revisions to the Remedial Action Guidelines (RAGs), as well as:
- New, expanded standards include indoor air and groundwater – in addition to soil
- Updated/new background contaminant concentration levels for Maine sites
- Changes to the process for selecting cleanup goals at sites with mixtures of contaminants
Maine DEP is seeking comment on these proposals by February 27, 2012. More detailed information on the proposed revisions is available on the Maine DEP website.
