Richard Ploss practices Of Counsel with Preti Flaherty's Trusts and Estates and Business Law Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on estate planning and administration and serves as Chair of the Trusts and Estates Group. He also focuses on federal income taxation and probate litigation. Richard regularly assists clients with wealth transfer planning.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Richard practiced as a solo attorney in Bedminster, New Jersey for nearly 16 years. He practiced primarily in the areas of estate planning and estate administration.
Richard is a Certified Public Accountant (Georgia) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Professional. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Georgetown University where he taught the estate planning and capstone case courses in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) programs. He was also an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Financial Planning at Fordham University where he taught the estate planning and capstone case courses in the Certified Financial Planner Certificate Program. He currently is an adjunct instructor at the Boston University Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Program. He is also the former Chairman of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Board of Standards, Council on Examinations on which he also served as the estate planning subject matter expert.
