Overview of Healthcare Reform Legislation
After including a budget reconciliation process, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the Affordable Care Act), and H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (the Health Care Reconciliation Act).
The Affordable Care Act, previously approved by the Senate on December 24, 2009, was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.

This week, President Obama signed major new healthcare reform legislation into law. Understanding the impact of this legislation on healthcare providers, businesses, and individuals will be critical in the times ahead.
