Attorney Anthony Buxton to Speak at Climate Change Summit in Boston

February 1, 2010 – Boston, MA – Preti Flaherty will co-host "Positioning Business to Succeed in the Low Carbon Economy - A Climate Change Summit" which will be held February 12, 2010 in Boston. Attorney Anthony Buxton, Co-Chair of the firm's Climate Strategy Group and Chair of the firm's Energy Group, will be speaking as a panelist.  

Preti Flaherty is co-hosting the full-day event with Associated Industries of Massachusetts, Environment Northeast and Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environment. Businesses affected by carbon legislation, large energy consumers and other executives who are responsible for strategic planning regarding energy consumption are invited to join us on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 8 am to 5 pm in Boston, MA. The summit features leading energy experts from the Obama administration and Capitol Hill including:

· Where the states and the region are headed with new carbon and energy legislation and regulation

· Moving forward with RGGI (Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative) and other state initiatives

· Targets and Initiatives of the Massachusetts Green Communities Act and related programs

· How industry can use policies and programs to invest and prepare for the transition

About the conference: The conference is designed to assist businesses that face growing uncertainty regarding climate and energy regulation and policy. They need assistance finding the resources and answers to help them plan and position their business more favorably in the coming low carbon economy.
